Melbourne-based self-taught artist Ashara Piyadasa creates joyful illustrations bursting with colour, curiosity and playful surprises. For the past seven years, illustration has been her happy place, a world where she can disappear into her imagination, dream freely and be unapologetically herself. No artwork never seems to follow the original plan. What begins as one idea often takes on a life of its own, much like Ashara herself, slightly chaotic, endlessly curious and almost always laughing. With energy that's impossible to contain and a heart full of creativity, she embraces every unexpected twist along the way. Through her art, Ashara hopes to spread positivity, spark smiles and remind people to find a little more joy in the everyday. If one of her illustrations leaves someone smiling, laughing or feeling just a little lighter, then it's done exactly what it was meant to do.
